Principal
Dr. Kilgore began his career in Knox County Schools in Knoxville, Tennessee, holding various roles, including teacher, coach, assistant principal, and night alternative administrator across rural, suburban, and urban schools. In 2022, he became Executive Principal at Horace Maynard Middle School in Union County, where he currently serves. Dr. Kilgore is also an Adjunct Professor at Grand Canyon University in the College of Education graduate program.
Dr. Kilgore completed the Leadership programs for both Union County and East Tennessee. He completed the Rural Principal Network in 2024-2025 and currently serves as a board member for Leadership Union County.
Dr. Kilgore has presented at numerous educational conferences, including the Tennessee Partners in Education Conference, the International Institute for Restorative Practices World Conference, the Southeastern Behavioral Health Conference, the East Tennessee Federal Programs Conference, the Association of Middle Level Education Annual Conference, the Innovations in Family Engagement Symposium, the TDOE Institue for CTE Educators, and the Austin Peay State University Rural Education Conference. He has also been published in the Tennessee Association of Middle Schools Journal and presented for the Tennessee Organization of School Superintendents.
